2/Portable Heater (Commas, Comments, and Ellipses...)
so i write my draft of a daily poem in front of my portable heater
and my poem is FOR my portable heater
which is ceramic, and curved, and in the poem i say it is like a Portuguese posada,
which may be a reach, but i think it was working, even the part about the peacock-blue
tile in the courtyard fountain and the imagined tapas laid out in the spray...and
i didn't want to say azure and i didn't mean cerulean and the word "jewel" attached
to blue seemed too much like Florida retirees with a cedar chest of sweaters with shiny
shiny stones affixed....so i was searching, and found that the color and shimmer i really meant to evoke was Peacock Blue...and when i searched, i pressed PUBLISH, thinking
i would go back to erase Cerulean once i had found the color i wanted which was Peacock....but instead the computer ate my poem draft. It was there, and now it is not.
i remember some of it...a comparison with the iPad, some you date and some you mate -
the portable heater being the kind you mate....in all seriousness, it was a love poem.
And now, like a love poem, it has lost its relevance in the absence of the missing.
