Gotcha! He's An Artist!

This daft fellow sits by the stream half the day

grey curls bent over piles of leaves and bracken

can't see his fishing gear, but hear him shifting and pinning,

like a mad quilter piecing long strips of yellow/

 yellow leaves threaded together with pine needles

which he gentles over the water, each leaf held just so as

to adhere to the surface tension, one by one released,

 until the kite string dragontails atop the watershine...

He opens his tackle box, pulls out a video cam, and films

the leaf line snake a path of wind and eddies.

Is there sound? will it record his murmurs - 

a vocal shiver as the fragile joints perfectly turn 

from the froth of scum near the banks

to the clear central current-

a bark of joy as it slides out of sight?
