arsenic, nevermind

let's all rent a house in new mexico
where the sky is big and the air is dry
and full of coal

let's go there and do nothing but our work
because there is nothing else to do
and we'd all rather be doing that anyway

and while dreaming of just how perfect that sounds
i know i'll cling to the thought of the arsenic in the tap water
to stay put some more in the clutches of this city
where i think i can no longer sublet my room
